Hello Kangaroos and Giraffes,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend and you didn’t get blown away!!

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘oa’ as goat and ‘ow’ as in hair bow.

Have a go at reading these sentences:

  • The wind will blow the little boat across the moat.
  • The snow will blow and leave a white coat on the oak tree.

In your workbooks copy the sentences neatly, then, underline the ‘oa’ and ‘ow’ words.

English

We are nearly at the end of our Year 1 journey, it has not gone quite the way we wanted it to, but we have made many lovely memories during our time together.

We are going to be thinking about the things that we have done, particularly your favourite memories of your time in Year 1.

We would like you to think about your favourite trip that you went on in Year 1.

Was it Eureka! Or maybe the recycling centre or was it Flamingo Land Zoo?

In your workbooks, we would like you to draw a picture of your favourite trip and write a few sentences to tell us why you liked this trip the best.

Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Take care with your handwriting. Keep it on the lines.

Art

Can you draw or paint a picture of your teacher, teaching assistant, dinner lady and any other adults that helped you in your class? Can you write their names? We would love to see these!

Have a lovely day.

From Mrs Eades and Mrs Attwood
