Hello Kangaroos and Giraffes,
Phonics
Today we are looking at the letter group ‘ue’ as in rescue and ‘ew’ as in newspaper.
Have a go at reading these sentences:
- There are a few new pegs in the box.
- One new newt slips into the dewy grass.
In your workbooks copy the sentence neatly, then, underline the ‘ue’ and ‘ew’ words.
English
As you know, we are thinking about our favourite memories of Year 1.
Today we would like you to think about your favourite topic. In your workbook, we would like you to write the name of your favourite topic and draw some of the activities that you enjoyed doing from this topic.
The topics that we have done this year are:
- Marvellous Me!
- Rubbish Monster
- Wild, Wild West
- Paws, Claws and Whiskers
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Roaming in the Rainforest
Which has been your favourite?
Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Take care with your handwriting. Keep it on the lines.
Maths
This week we are going to be looking at money. Today we would like you to look at some coins. Can you ask your grown-up if they have any coins in the house you can look at? If not we have attached some images of coins.
Look at the shape, value and writing on them. Can you identify the value of the coins?
Now play a game identifying different coins.

Can you think of a topic that you would like to have done in Year 1?
What activities could you do as part of this topic?
Have a lovely day.
