Good morning Kangaroos and Giraffes,

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘ure’, as in pure.

How many words can you think of? We would like you to make a list of the words in your workbook and read them to a grown up. Can you put some of these words into a sentence? Can you make a silly sentence?

Music

Today can you sing your favourite songs to your grown up and with your grown up then make up a silly song or rhyme. Can you think of ways to make music using different parts of your body? Can you use the rainmaker that you made last week?

This week we are learning about the ocean and the creatures that live in it, can you think of any rhymes or songs that have the sea or sea creatures in them?

Maths

We are going to continue practising our adding today but instead of using objects can you use a number line to help you.

We have uploaded a numberline if you can print it out, if not can you make one?

Remember to circle the biggest number and count on.

Write the number sentence in your book and use the write the answer.

Red and Possums –

We have got some word problems for you to solve.

Mrs Attwood bakes 11 cakes and Mrs Eades bakes 6 cakes. They need 20 cakes for the school picnic. Have they got enough cakes? How many more do they need to bake?

12 slithery snakes sneak into Mr Barnett’s office and 6 slimy toads hop in. How many creatures does Mr Barnett need to find?

Mrs Merrick and Mrs Coney are having a competition on who can collect the most stickers. Mrs Merrick collects 4 on Monday and 12 on Tuesday. Mrs Coney collects 6 on Wednesday and 11 on Thursday. Who collected the most?
